Week Three Schedule

  • I can measure and record the perimeter of an object

  • I can measure and record the area of an object

  • I can understand and explain both area and perimeter and the differences between them

  • I can identify the three different types of puns

  • I can write a full paragraph using an introductory sentence, topic sentences and a concluding sentence

  • I can complete my Grammar Minute page including correcting verbs, identifying Greek and Latin root words, rewriting a sentence correctly, and writing the past tense of irregular verbs 

  • I can write a friendly letter

Please refer to the email from the school in regards to Teams and why we are switching away from Zoom.

Tuesday, Wednesday

  • I will be contacting you either by phone or through Teams.

Thursday

  • Whole class: That's so Punny! Share your illustrated pun at 9:30

  • Wear a "punny" outfit/costume

MONDAY

•Professional Learning day for Staff – no school for students

 

TUESDAY

•Grammar Minute 30: Watch the video and use your booklet to complete MONDAY.  An answer key will be emailed to parents so you can mark your work at home.

•Journal entry: Use the prompt in Class Notebook (OneNote).  You can write in your journal, take a picture and INSERT it in Class Notebook, or you can write it directly in your Class Notebook.  Use the Apr. 21 Journal Response tab.  This should take 10-15 minutes.

•Read through the notes on Puns (That’s so Punny) in your Class Notebook (you can also watch the video!)

•At some point this week, watch “Punny Animals” on the Grade 4 YouTube Channel (linked above).

•Math: Complete the area and perimeter sort activity and explore the definitions page by watching the video and playing the game.

•Start your Prodigy assignment (this will come up automatically when you login).

•Listen to Actual Size on YouTube for our final week of March Madness (MM 1)

 

WEDNESDAY

EARTH DAY

•Grammar Minute Tuesday Week 30

•Complete the “Classify Puns” activity in your Class Notebook

•Complete the “Illustrate Puns” activity in Class Notebook.  Be prepared to share it in Teams on Thursday!  If you are using the Draw tool in Notebook, make sure you are taking your time to do a beautiful job. 

•Math: Review the area and perimeter definitions, and then complete the "Explore at Home" activity.

•Choose a different lesson than last week from Miss Steph’s page (Online Resources button on my page or Lessons and Resources tab on the main page).  Email me something you learned.

•Listen to The Love Letter on YouTube (MM 2)

•OPTIONAL: Check out the Earth Day activities in your Notebook

 

THURSDAY

•Teams Meeting with the whole class: Be prepared to share your illustrated pun.

•Grammar Minute Wednesday Week 30.

•Math: Complete the area and perimeter Forms assignment

•Watch Telefrancais Episode 30 (French playlist on the Grade 4 YouTube channel).  This is the last episode!

•Listen to Are You Scared Darth Vader on YouTube (MM 3)

 

FRIDAY

•Grammar Minute Thursday Week 30.  Optional: Complete your Week 30 quiz.

•Write your own pun!  Use your knowledge from the week and write your own in the Collaboration Space in Class Notebook. 

•Friday Letter:  Write two paragraphs 1) What I learned this week, 2) What I enjoyed about my learning this week.  Remember to use proper friendly letter formatting (watch the two videos to help you write a great letter).  Complete in your Class Notebook (or write it by hand and INSERT a picture).

•Math: Play the area and perimeter game in your Notebook.

•Listen to The Toad on YouTube (MM 4) then VOTE for your favourite!
