Weekly Learning Goals

  • I can measure and record the perimeter of an object

  • I can measure and record the area of an object

  • I can understand and explain both area and perimeter and the differences between them

  • I can read, respond and understand poetry.

  • I can write a full paragraph using an introductory sentence, topic sentences and a concluding sentence

  • I can complete my Grammar Minute page including compound subjects, identifying Greek and Latin root words, rewriting a sentence correctly, and using proper adjectives.

Teams Conferences Schedule

Monday

  • Teams check-in parents & students 10:00 a.m.

Tuesday, Wednesday

  • 2:30 p.m. Teams pop in (optional) for questions you may have about curriculum

Thursday

  • Whole class: "REAL or FAKE" lesson on teams
    9:30 a.m.

Week Four Schedule

Helpful tip:  Before starting assignments, make sure you have checked back to last week's work and read your feedback!

MONDAY​

  • Grammar Minute 31: Watch the video and use your booklet to complete Monday.  An answer key will be emailed to parents so you can mark your work at home.​

  • Journal entry: Use the prompt in Class Notebook (OneNote).  You can write in your journal, take a picture and INSERT it in Class Notebook, or you can write it directly in your Class Notebook.  Use the Apr. 27 Journal Response page.  This should take 10-15 minutes.​

  • Poetry unit: choose a task card from your OneNote and complete.​

  • Math: define area and perimeter again.   Listen to "Spaghetti and Meatballs for All", answer the questions and build a fort​

  • Prodigy assignment begins - due Friday

  • Optional: Music – at some point this week, check out the link in your OneNote.​

  • Listen to Castle in the Attic (link above – Castle 1)​

  • MARCH Madness showdown!  Listen to Mrs. Samayoa's winner

 

TUESDAY​

  • Grammar Minute Tuesday Week 31​

  • Poetry unit: choose a task card from your OneNote and complete.​

  • Math: read or listen to the two Epic! Books then complete the chart​

  • Listen to Castle in the Attic (link above – Castle 2)​

  • MARCH Madness showdown!  Listen to Mrs. Nelson's winner

 

WEDNESDAY​

  • Grammar Minute Wednesday Week 31.​

  • Poetry unit: choose a task card from your OneNote and complete.​

  • Choose a new lesson from Miss Steph’s page (Online Resources button on my page or Lessons and Resources tab on the main page).  Email me something you learned.​

  • Math: create your dream home!​

  • Listen to Castle in the Attic (link above – Castle 3)​

  • MARCH Madness showdown!  Listen to Miss Rahim's winner

 

THURSDAY​

  • Grammar Minute Thursday Week 31​

  • Poetry unit: choose a task card from your OneNote and complete.​

  • Teams Meeting with the whole class: Real or Fake?  Class discussion on how to tell what’s real or fake on the Internet.​

  • Math: complete the six task cards​

  • Listen to Castle in the Attic (link above – Castle 4)​

  • MARCH Madness showdown!  Listen to Miss Fischer's winner

 

FRIDAY​

  • Optional: Complete your Grammar Minute Week 31 quiz.​

  • Friday Letter:  Write two paragraphs 1) What I learned this week, 2) What I enjoyed about my learning this week.  Remember to use proper friendly letter formatting (watch the two videos from Week 3 if you need to help you write a great letter).  Complete in your Class Notebook (or write it by hand and INSERT a picture).​

  • Listen to Castle in the Attic (link above – Castle 5)​

  • VOTE for your favorite March Madness book.  Winner will be revealed on Monday.
