Week Five Schedule

Helpful tip:  Students in grade 4 are required to complete 5 hours a week of school work.  If you are finding that the assignments are taking longer than about an hour a day, I have place an asterisk (*) beside the assignments that are most important - complete those first.  Remember, I am still here as your teacher and want to work with you!  If you are struggling with something, please ask me before spending too much time struggling over it.

Before starting assignments, make sure you have checked back to last week's work and read your feedback!

MONDAY

•Grammar Minute 32: Watch the video and use your booklet to complete Monday.  An answer key will be emailed to parents so you can mark your work at home.

•*Journal entry: Continue to use the weekly prompts.  Use the May 4 Journal Response page.  This should take 10-15 minutes.

•*Poetry unit – Watch the video about why poetry is important then read the Please, Mrs. Butler poem.  You can listen to Mrs. Samayoa read the poem, read the poem with someone else, read it on your own, or any combination of the above!  Complete the hashtag activity.  Note: if this is too much for one day, remember that this is just a suggested schedule!  Feel free to leave some for Tuesday or when you can get to it.

•*Math: Complete two problems and optional game.

•Prodigy: Use Prodigy as your daily math practice.  In grade 4, you should be practicing math daily above and beyond regular school work.  If you spend 10-15 minutes a day on basic math practice using Prodigy, this will cover your “assignment.”  The assignment in Prodigy is the game that shows up when you go in to play.
