Monday
Ms. Fischer is going to be making you something for the end of the year but she needs your help.
Think of the people in your class this year, reflect on the great memories you have together, imagine your friends and what amazing qualities we all hold.
Then click on the link here and describe each of your classmates with a few positive words. Please don't skip anyone, if you have trouble thinking of a word to describe them use the second link which goes to a list of adjectives that you can look at for inspiration. Aim for three words per person!
Today we will have our first lesson on fractions. The teams meeting is at 1pm. It is expected that all students come to this lesson unless you reach out to your teach first.

If you DID do it click the link and go and watch the videos of your classmates. Notice what they did the same or differently than you!
This week we are going to create a class "playlist" of our favourite books we have read this year. The playlist will live in Ms. F's class for other's to use when they aren't sure what to read.
Today I want you to make a list of all of your favourite books you have read this year. Because we aren't in the classroom you will have to rely on your memory.
These can be library books, class books, EPIC books, audio books, books at your house, any kind of book!
Aim to have ten or more books on your list. After your list is complete highlight or circle your top three favourites. You will need this for tomorrow!
Today we are going to brainstorm what we love about the books we love! We are going to try and answer some essential questions:
-
Title? Author? Illustrator?
-
What genre of book is it?
-
What features does the book have that you like so much? (humour, action, relatable, fantasy, etc)
-
What is the book about? Summarize it without giving it away
-
What would you change about the book?
-
Who should read this book and why?
An example is provided for you in the assignment
Thursday and Friday
Click the link to go to your fractions assignments for Thursday and Friday.
For each question FOLD FIRST! Have a pile of paper beside you so you can practice folding into equal parts. This is ESSENTIAL learning to build your brains understanding.
Today we are going to take what we brainstormed about the books we love and each create a beautiful page for a classroom book recommendation binder.
Click on the link which will take you to powerpoint, it will be best to log in with your school account to access the program.
Use your planning sheet from yesterday to complete your own slide on your favourite book. There are instructions on the first page of the powerpoint, an example for you to look at, and a template with instructions for each part.
This is your activity for both Thursday and Friday and should take you about an hour with writing, editing, and styling. DO YOUR BEST WORK! This is going to be in Ms. F's classroom next year!
